    Compass Learning paths have been adjusted to meet the skills identified by the recent NWEA testing. All 5th grade students will be completing portions of their Individualized Pathways for both reading and math in the computer lab prior to Unified Arts on A and C mornings.
    Math: Students in my math class are using the Houghton Mifflin Harcourt Math Expressions program. This program will help to better prepare your child to meet the National Math Core.
    The students have also been registered for Prodigy and XtraMath. They should be going onto these websites TWICE per week to practice their skills. I have had a few students who have completed all of the facts practice paths and are now finished with XtraMath! Congratulations!

    our wonderful Cast and Crew and our Staff who helped produce an amazing Musical this week! The Lion King was terrific! Our 3rd, 4th,4th and 5th graders is coming soon! Two performances will be delivered,sang, danced, and acted out the wonderful Disney story the Lion King to a large audience this Monday May 8th at 2:00 pm and Tuesday May 9th at 7:00 pm. Tickets will be availableTuesday. Many thanks to Mr. Haines, Ms. Manning, and Mrs. Giles for saletheir many hours of teaching and direction with our students.

    The Lori Haber Buckfire Foundation is hosting
    staff had lots of fun running laps outside Wednesday morning. Mrs. Franskoviak's Kindergarten class and Ms. Manning's 3rd grade class ran the fourth annual Planet Lori Art Camp, run by the Birmingham Bloomfield Art Center (BBAC), on a daily basismost laps and so have won an extra PE time to enjoy. Please don't forget to send in your child's donation money earned from August 21 – 25, 2017, from 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM. The Lori Haber Buckfire Foundation is providing full paid scholarshipstheir running. We are collecting this money to put towards new furniture for children (ages 5-15)classrooms and shared collaborative space!

This is in downtown Franklin onresponse to the lawngrowing concern in Michigan regarding literacy education and the decline in the number of certified school librarians to number of students in Michigan since 2008. Michigan is currently ranked number 46 in the Kreger House. This new event supportingcountry for those numbers.     Berkshire Bound 2017 will be August 21-25 this year. Registration will open sometime in May (TBD).
    MStep testing dates will be:
    April 25 for Social Studies
    It is critical that your child be present for testing during these times. Please schedule any appointments outside of this testing window.
    Spring 2017 Band Concert Performance West Maple.
    All 5th grade beginning band students will combine this spring to perform a concert at Seaholm High School Auditorium.
    The rehearsal/concert dates for this year are:
    Berkshire feeder schools-Rehearsal (mandatory) at Seaholm May 3, 4:30-5:30pm
    Concert at Seaholm, May 4, 7:00pm. Specific details for these events will be sent home with the band students as we get closer to the performance date.
    Each elementary band will also perform a day concert at their own school for students and staff. These dates are still to be determined.
