5th Grade CAMP
Dear 5th grade parents, August 19, 2015

We wanted to share this information with you so you can begin to plan ahead for 5th grade camp. All Birmingham Elementary School 5th graders attend camp each year. The 5th grade teachers, as well as the camp staff, provide our students with an opportunity for personal growth, independence and self reliance. All of this is done while enjoying the great outdoors! A key component of 5th grade camp is to practice working collaboratively with others to accomplish and complete fun, engaging activities.
  • This year our students will be attending 5th grade fall outdoor education camp on Wednesday, October 7 - Friday, October 9, 2015.

  • We have scheduled a 5th grade Camp Information meeting for parents only on Thursday, September 17th at 6:00 p.m. in the cafeteria.

  • CAMP COSTS are $175.00 per student– please make checks payable to West Maple Elementary School. This cost includes 3 days and 2 nights of camp, classes, activities, meals, t-shirts, transportation and supplies. All forms (permission slips/medical forms) and money are due on Wednesday, September 30, 2015.

  • We are also in need of parents to chaperon at camp along with our staff. If you are interested, please complete the attached ICHAT and chaperon forms to be considered . Parent chaperons must commit for the 3 days and we will cover your fee to attend. If you have additional questions, please email Mrs. Davis at or call at 248-203-5107. Please return chaperon forms to the main office at by Friday, September 11th. We will notify you the following week.

Please contact Mrs. Mahler if you are in need of financial assistance to help with the camp fees. We would like all children to have the opportunity to attend camp. (This will be kept confidential.)
